A Red Hot Margarita with Hot Tamale drops
2 cups of ice
1 1/2 ounces lime juice
1 1/2 ounces tequila
1 ounce simple syrup * instruction below
1 lime wedge
coarse salt
Hot Tamale candies (optional)
Combine tequila, lime juice and the simple syrup using a hand-held shaker with lots of ice. Rub the rim of two glasses with a lime wedge and dip in salt. Divide the margarita between the prepared glasses and serve. Drop a few Hot Tamale candies.
* Instruction for a simple syrup . In a sauce pan simmer equal parts of sugar and water until sugar dissolves, than cool.
